Hip, Hip Hop...Hooray!!! yesterday marked a mile stone in my natural hair journey. It was my 1 year and 8 months afroversary of being a naturalista.
Some time April last year, I got a BIG CHOP; I shaved off my relaxed, chemical damaged hair and made the decision to start a healthy hair journey.
Hiew, it hasn't been easy at all. I had to change all my hair products, then learn the LCO and LOC moisture preservation method.
It wasn't easy determining my hair type. It took patience and constant monitoring of my hair growth pattern to discover that I'm a 4a naturalista.
One lesson being a naturalista has taught me is patience. There were times I thought my hair wasn't growing, and the urge to perm it was almost overwhelming, but then I'd relax and overcome it. And oh! lets not forget the detangling part 😭😭. The hours spent on detangling and the fear of wash day. I must say a big thank you to brands like Cantu and Shea Moisture for their detangling creams.
